Wildwind opens July 1st for guests from Germany
Wildwind Sailing holidays in Vassiliki will be re-opening on July 1st for visitors from a select number of countries, one of which is Germany.
As you are probably aware, Greece has weathered the Covid crisis better than almost any other country in Europe and life is gradually returning to normal. Of course, certain restrictions are in place, but our beautiful island of Lefkas has zero cases of the coronavirus.
The Greek government has identified 20 countries from which they will be welcoming visitors with open arms as of 1st July and Germany on the list. When arriving at the airport, there will only be random sample tests and no conditions or quarantine.
If you have already booked a holiday with us starting from 1st July onward, your holiday plans can go ahead without issue. Peter, our agent in Germany, will be in touch with you shortly.
If you have not yet made a reservation but would like to escape to our wonderful sailing paradise, please get in touch as soon as possible. Peter can advise you on all aspects of your holiday, including the flights that are available, plus some of the minor changes we have put in place to protect everyone’s health while you are with us. There will of course be some social distancing guidelines at the hotels and restaurants and rooms will be steam cleaned in between arrivals, but regular cleaning and changing linen during your stay might not be possible. We can already confirm that sailing two-person boats is allowed. All of our staff (instructors, hotel employees, cleaning and other support staff) will receive daily health checks and all our guests will be offered a daily temperature check.
Speaking to the German newspaper Bild, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed Greece’s success in keeping the coronavirus epidemic at manageable levels: “German tourists will be able to take a direct flight to the Greek islands as of July 1. We are a positive example and this creates a feeling of safety and trust in our efficiency”.
